Unveils CryptoStick™ at InfoTech, (Research Triangle Park, NC - October 30, 2002) - Research Triangle Software, Inc. (www.rtsz.com) announced today that it has unveiled the CryptoStickä, a portable data encryption and storage device that allows individuals to carry encrypted files with them on a key ring. The product was launched today at InfoTech 2002, one of the premier technology showcase events in the Southeast United States. "CryptoStick is a groundbreaking product that will change the way individuals conduct business," said Jeff LeRose, CEO of Research Triangle Software. "Gone are the days of carrying a laptop PC in order to ensure that you will be using a secure PC at your destination. Instead of using a laptop or unprotected emails and disks to transport confidential documents, everyone can now use the CryptoStick. It provides a convenient and effective solution to store and transport important data. The CryptoStick is a compact device the size of a small pocket lighter that fits on a key ring or clips to your pocket and provides you with immediate access to your encrypted, confidential documents." The CryptoStick, which comes preloaded with the latest version of CryptoBuddy™ (1.1), can be connected to any computer with a USB (Universal Serial Bus) interface port and is compatible with the following windows operating systems Windows® 98, SE, 2000, ME, and XP. The CryptoStick will come in a variety of colors and different storage capacities ranging from 16MB up to 2GB. "The CryptoStick will fulfill the needs of most business travelers who need to transport presentations or other secure data," LeRose added. The CryptoStick is the follow-up product to CryptoBuddy™ 1.0, one of the most successful software releases in the Research Triangle Park region this year. Released by Research Triangle Software this June, CryptoBuddy has received high marks from software reviewers across the country and is now available for free at more than 100 Internet download sites. The easy-to-use application allows the compression and encryption of all sensitive files in a manner designed to simplify and demystify encryption in ordinary usage. Data can be safely stored on the CryptoStick for up to ten years, and no software needs to be resident on the origin or destination computer.
